On the Camino Frances!!!

We took a cab from Pamplona to Roncelsvallles today to begin our walk, and what a gorgeous walk it was! We saw the church of the pilgrims that was built around 1127 as well as the land where the battle of Charlemagne’s troops took place in 778. I have read that it is very important to remember the battles that took place on and around the area that we are walking. There was much bloodshed and so many stories. On this route you can also see the Milky Way perfectly I am told. I will let you know on that asap! Tonight we are in a little pension that has heat, hot water and nice pillows. It really is amazing how little you need and what really matters at the end of walking 24 km. We sent 4lbs on to another town toward Santiago this morning. I am operating on the absolute minimum and it feels so much better on my back! We drank a bottle of Cava to celebrate our new journey and toasted all those we love. That is you!!!!!
